Why stock locally made footwear
Imported footwear can mean long shipping times, large minimum orders and little control over what arrives. Working with a manufacturer based in Port Louis gives Mauritian retailers practical advantages:
- Shorter replenishment cycles, so you hold less stock and reorder what actually sells.
- Smaller, more flexible quantities that suit independent boutiques.
- Styles suited to local life, from breathable sandals for the heat to formal shoes for offices, schools and ceremonies.
- Direct communication in person or by phone when you need to change an order.
Many customers also appreciate buying products made in Mauritius, which can be a useful message on your shelves and social media. Local production also makes it easier to react to demand, for example adding more sandals before the summer season or more formal shoes ahead of school and wedding periods.
Building the right size runs
The most common wholesale mistake is buying too many of the extreme sizes and running out of the middle. We help you plan a size curve for each style based on your previous sales, your area and your customers. Our standard ranges are men's 38 to 47, ladies' shoes 35 to 45 and ladies' heel sandals 35 to 44, although larger men's sizes depend on the style.
| Category | Standard size range | Planning note |
|---|---|---|
| Men's formal and casual | 38 to 47 | Larger sizes depend on the style |
| Ladies' shoes and flats | 35 to 45 | Consider width as well as length |
| Ladies' heel sandals | 35 to 44 | Heel height affects which sizes sell |
Ordering, minimums and delivery
Minimum order quantities are typically set per style and colour and depend on whether the item is in stock or must be produced. Production and delivery times vary with order size and the season. Both are always confirmed in your written quote before you commit.
Orders are packed in boxes labelled by style, colour and size, so your team can receive and shelve them quickly. We deliver throughout Mauritius. For buyers in Rodrigues, Réunion, Madagascar, Seychelles and other Indian Ocean destinations, we discuss packing, documentation and the most suitable shipping method case by case.
Payment options for trade accounts include bank transfer, card and cash. Terms for repeat customers can be discussed once a trading relationship is established.
If a pair arrives with a manufacturing fault, tell us promptly and we will inspect it and arrange a replacement or repair. Our shipping and returns policy sets out the general conditions.
Beyond standard wholesale
If you would like shoes under your own shop name or brand, our private label and OEM service lets you add your logo to insoles and boxes. Retailers who supply staff footwear to local businesses can also combine orders with our corporate and uniform footwear service.
